Vote Pera Paniora for Wairoa Ward - Just 1 Vote is all it takes. A vote you can count on and trust.
Authorised by Ihapera Paniora ipan007@aucklanduni.ac.nz

I am asking for your vote because I know I can make a real difference to the Wairoa and to you.
Last term I promised to fiercely advocate for the things that matter in the Māori Ward including Te Taiao, affordable housing and our people. The needs of the Wairoa were never far from my mind and I hope you can see from the official record of votes that I attempted to advance Wairoa's interests wherever possible.
This term I promise to do the same for Wairoa. I am fully aware of the challenges and issues we face such as pressing water and infrastructure needs as well as rates and housing affordability. I'm open to listening to other issues residents have and to champion them. Local Waters Done Well might be one of the biggest costs we ratepayers and residents face in the next decade and I want to make sure we get the best possible deal. Now more than ever, our Ward needs strong advocacy and steady leadership.
No hidden agendas. Just strong, local leadership and loyalty to Wairoa.
Nā tātou te Kaipara - Together we shape our future.
You won't find me on a billboard, but you will find me out in the community so don't be shy to come and say Kia Ora!
My three primary priorities are as follows:
1. Demonstrating strong and effective advocacy for the Wairoa Ward to ensure that our community's concerns and perspectives are duly represented. These are clearly roads and water infrastructure.
2. Identifying and eliminating unnecessary expenditures while implementing cost-saving measures to maintain affordable rates for residents.
3. Ensuring that the "Local Waters Done Well" initiative delivers tangible and effective outcomes for the benefit of Wairoa. The current central government policy is concerning for Wairoa.
My key long-term goals are outlined below:
1. Strengthening road, water and flood resilience through the implementation of strategic measures to address the complexities of an increasingly variable and extreme climate. Serious consideration must be given to assessing the feasibility of Waiatua dam as an additional water supply and relaxing requirements and costs around water tank installations.
2. Re-establishment of the Māori Ward to ensure equitable representation for all members of the community.
3. Allocating resources towards profit-generating assets, such as Auckland's Future Fund model, to reduce long-term dependency on ratepayer contributions.
4. Other priorities include future proofing the Kauri Coast Pool to make it financially self-funded and get the necessary upgrades it needs and consider ways to support Dargaville Sportsville in more ways.
